Integrative and Functional Medicine
Many chronic diseases are caused by dental problems.
When teeth are affected, they reflect their toxic effects on other organs and metabolic functions. Acute or chronic systemic pathologies also have an impact on oral health.
Through a holistic approach, analysing the patient as a whole, we work in Dentistry while, at the same time, using Functional Supplementation and other non-invasive techniques and technological means, we optimise the organic metabolisms of repair/healing and regeneration that led to the pathology. Our patients thus receive treatment with less need for medication, avoiding toxicity and improving their general health.
Implantology
This is a surgical area of dentistry dedicated to the placement of dental implants. These work like tooth roots in the rehabilitation of edentulous spaces. Dental implants allow patients to regain their smile, comfort and chewing function with fixed teeth as if they were their natural teeth.
Biological implants
More than pure aesthetics. A natural and resistant solution. Ceramic implants are made from materials that are more compatible with the body.
Periodontology
This is the area of dentistry that ensures the prevention, treatment and maintenance of the health of the gums and the tissues that surround and support the teeth (periodontal ligament and bone). The most common periodontal diseases are Gingivitis and Periodontitis, also known as “Pyorrhoea”, both of which have a high incidence in the Portuguese population and are one of the main causes of tooth loss in adults.
Peri-implantitis, the chronic inflammatory and infectious disease involving implants, is also stabilised and treated by this speciality, avoiding the suffering and losses associated with the condition.
Biological Dentistry
This speciality advocates a differentiated and careful approach to treating dental and oral cavity pathologies in a “biological” way.
With knowledge of the body’s natural cellular healing processes, less invasive treatments are designed, using biological materials that do not contain harmful substances that could cause irritation and/or intolerance in the mouth.
In this way, less aggressive techniques are applied with faster and more comfortable healing procedures for the patient.
